Enlarged to Show Detail

“Enlarged to Show Detail” is an ongoing creation of pattern through a consciously tedious process that moves back and forth between the physical and the digital, chance and mathematical operations, randomness and arrangement.

In this piece the 720 unique dots are punched from a collection of Orbit gum packages, scaled, rotated, and projected at a large scale. As the dots explode stretch and morph they create a beautiful, complex and intriguing color arrangements. The dots are constantly rearranged based on computer generated positions.
