Parry en las Calles (Party in the Streets)

Parry en las Calles (Party in the Streets) is an ephemeral project that requires public participation. Art should be accessible to all social classes in society; this is the reason my practice involves working in the urban environment. There is something about brick buildings and bare, wooden panels that I find seductive. I enjoy listening to the natural sounds of the city: children screaming, noisy buses and reckless wind, which are poetic and inspire my intuition as I work.

For Parry en las Calles, I decided to incorporate a painting I made, leaving it among the wheat pasted imagery depicting a flag. The mystery behind its existence is fascinating to me. I envision that a kid took it or a homeless person sold it on the streets. Whatever happens to the painting or whoever owns it now helps me accomplish the project, providing a new life for the piece.
