Aggregate
The artwork I’m submitting for this showcase are all exercises on the idea of connectedness. We all, whether conditioned or naturally, focus on and place great meaning on very small details in our lives, often ignoring or missing the “bigger picture”, and, I suspect, wouldn’t be capable of recognizing the sum of all of these myriad small parts if we were shown it. In these pieces, which weren’t, admittedly, all done at the same time, I think I’m trying to show that what we think of as our “everything” and use so much energy trying to control, is only ever a small contribution to the aggregate. All works are black ink on paper.
