BLEACH

  • Added 06/01/2010

this sculpture is a surreal representation of forced moral cleansing. The wooden structure is the human spirit, textured and layered with many feelings and emotions. The piece being white or “bleached” shows the efforts the spirit goes under or is forced to undergo to appear to be clean and accepted. The red fluid or “blood” substance represents the natural rejection or inquisitivness the mind undergoes when forced to repress its original nature. It signifies outlets the human spirit and mind purges to find when placed in positions of repression, abuse, tradition or traumatization.
