I took this picture prior to Chinese New Year when apricot flowers were blooming in rural gardens around Hanoi, Vietnam. My friends and I had great time there. I was inspired to capture this moment amidst the afternoon light. This made the apricot flowers seem glowing vividly. Moreover, the shadow of the ancient mountain further enhanced the contrast, achieving a dreamlike tone. In this picture, the pure white color of the apricot flowers and the traditional Vietnamese dress (ao dai) was emphasized to symbolize the innocence and vitality of youth. It is a beauty difficult to apprehend, fragile yet glamorous.
