Dollhouse

  • Added 10/28/2010

Within the series “Dollhouse” there is an attempt to trick the viewer into believing that the interior spaces of an old dollhouse are life-size rooms. This deception of reality directly addresses the rift between a desire to stay as an adolescent and the opposite desire to venture into adulthood. The rooms are abandoned and dilapidated, showing that a house separated from the notion of a ‘home’. Shadows within the photographs take up the majority of the frame to show the overwhelming fear felt over the prospect of growing up.
