Artist Statement
Since a young age, I was labeled quiet and shy by others. Communication has always been something that I experienced differently. I began training in dance at the age of ten and became fascinated by this form of non-verbal communication. Now as a photographer and artist, I incorporate these themes in my work. I am interested in modern technology and its impact on communication and personal identity. Non-verbal communication has become an obsession in our culture. Where we used to call someone we are now more likely to text them. A face of a friend is being replaced by the glowing gaze of a screen. This can affect our idea of reality. I am am interested in these evolutions and how they will impact people in the future.
