The subject matter I am primarily attracted to is often in a state of decay or metamorphose. This combined with my desire to explore the surface of the painting and utilize various mark making techniques lead to this series of abstract paintings. I aim to create images that have multiple surface finishes or textures which will intrigue people; whereas the inspiration may initially cause one to be disguisted or uninterested. I seek to find a sense of beauty and intrigue in an otherwise ugly or useless form.
