My work is a cohesive look at the boundary of family, identity and history. Visually I am interested in how these definition and perspective fit into the medium of photography. I explore these themes in the form of fine art and documentary photography while crossing the line between both. I think about how we relate to each other and the spaces around us.
I keep coming back to the ideas of how we view ourselves within our family history, however I am also interested in what happens when the history of family no longer exist; what happens then to the memories and stories which are no longer remembered or told. The visuals of photography work to tell a story of a place and time but what happens when there is no longer a story for the image. My work has different visual forms but surrounds ideas of how we perceive the visuals and the story which they convey.
